I have to say that that my favourite piece of writing from he last couple of weeks would have to be Woolf's Professions for Women. The poem that left the strongest, most positive impression on me was one by Gerald Manly Hopkins, a brilliant poet, to whom I have only recently been introduced by Michael G. It is a shame that he didn’t receive the recognition due to him in life, because of the late publishing of his work (a whole 29 years after his death!!). God’s Grandeur really ( Read more... )

The first may be a story you've already heard but I just found out it's actually an urban legend and has no truth at all!!

I honestly believed it and wrote this whole entry based on it being true… But the all scholarly source “Wikipedia” tells me it is actually an urban myth. ( Read more... )
