I've always found it difficult to categorise my voting preferences, since I'm a strong left socially, but a moderate right economically. For most issues, I find Democrats or Greens to be supportive, but I have always felt the true power rests with the independant. Look at Brian Harradine (not that I supported him, but) for Tasmania. I think South Australia will be lucky indeed with Mr X in our corner.
He shits me, to be honest. I met him a couple times when I was at uni, and he just seemed like an unmitigated douchebag.
But I do agree with the fact that his showboating draws attention to some of the problems in politics, and weird changes that make no sense. I just wish a less arrogant person was behind it.
