Nooooo! Evil chapter ending! That was only a trick Spock played. To make the Ping people think he's given up so the return can surprise them. Yes/yes? XD

Kirk's travails were so convincingly portrayed, I feel a little sick now myself. Sure hope Spock does something to get him out of there before he surrenders more of his spirit than can be restored.

Oh my god! The ending made me feel sick to my stomach to think that Kirk is still on Ping while his crew is back on the Enterprise. He is so resigned to death because at least he did his duty to ensure the safety of his crew. It hurts so much to read that after Spock's message, Kirk finally realized he is in love with Spock. UGH! I'm really hoping for a happy ending.

Oh wow, was that a hard chapter to read.

I love how Kirk spends the time usefully hatching up a plan, one that is noble and utterly heart-breaking. His illness is worrying me, in case it goes beyond anything that can be repaired - if the Pingians have the means to heal him.

The fight scene was nail-biting and so hard to read, because I hate seeing Kirk get hurt. I was glad, in the end, that he passed out.

I love how Sextus totally falls for Jim's ploy, hook, line and sinker. But oh, the outcome of that, of the final farewell, left a huge ache in my chest, and tears in my eyes.

This was a tough read and a wonderful update. Thank you! ♥
