I can never see errors before I post, so it's always a good idea to give me 5 mins after posting to fix silly stuff. Like speeling and and repetition and unclosed tags where the italics go on and on and on for paragraph after paragraph...

I SWEAR, WE ARE GETTING CLOSER. ONE DAY, I WILL HAVE THEM NAKED AND SWEATING WITH THE RUBBING AND GRUNTS, AND I WON'T STOP TYPING TILL THAT HAPPENS.

AND THEN I'LL TYPE SOME MORE BECAUSE IT WOULD BE REALLY STUPID TO STOP THERE.

Esca and Marcus alone in Marcus' room... Now that's something I'm looking forward to read!

I have to say, I adore your descriptions of Marcus seen through Esca's eyes. It always reminds me of what a fine specimen Channing Tatum is.

Oh, God, isn't he, though? I might have to go look at some pictures of him shirtless for *cough* inspiration when I get to naked time.

Writing: A Tough Job.

Ooo, I got so excited I squeed when I saw part 5 was posted. :)

I love the rugger game, with Stew half conversing to Esca, half shouting at the boys - I could totally imagine it. And I loved how Marcus smiled when Esca walked over (because he couldn't help himself) and how that smile grew wider and wider! :D But I felt sad when it was so bright when Esca confessed to having a date. Poor Marcus.

I'm so glad that Fiona wasn't invested in Esca, so she won't be hurt, but she may make a convenient cover for him and a source of jealousy for Marcus. Heh.

The huge crate looks interesting - I can't wait for Esca to explore the contents with Marcus. It was so sweet of him to invite Esca. Not anyone else, just Esca. :D

You do such a great job of reminding me of the era with little details like a 'wireless' and Esca's belief that cigs will kill his cold, not him! And lots of other subtle references to the time.

A wonderful update! ♥

Ah, I'm hugely glad it's still going well for you. It's one of those stories that's springing fully formed (as if from the loins of Zeus) onto the page, so it doesn't feel like I'm fully in control of where each bit heads off to. Although I know precisely where we're going in the long-term ;)

I was looking at some 50s cigarette ads months back and it really was astonishing how many health claims they made for smoking. It soothes the throat and attracts sophisticated ladies! No word on what it does for Italian Latin masters, though...

A big thank you for twisting ladytiferet's talented arm, btw. You've only yourself to blame if I spend my 3 hrs writing time tomorrow gazing at Esca in his gown instead.

I love those kind of stories - I've not had one for a long time. I'm suffering with writers block atm. :( What you're doing here is really wonderful - it's all so vivid!

What they claimed in ads back then was close to criminal considering the industry was already aware not only of the links between smoking and cancer but also of how addictive nicotine is.

The pic ladytiferet was wonderful! She's very talented and I hope she'll manage to find a base for Marcus. :) And I know at least one person on twitter last night who got excited by the sight of the cane... :)

Fantastic - have been feeling rather under the weather (just like poor Esca) today and this was a wonderful pick-me-up at bedtime. I am still loving the dialogue (the rugger match is wonderful) and can't wait for the next part.

Stories that write themselves fully formed are just the BEST. They keep the writer interested as well as the reader!

Oh I love this so much!

I loved that Esca couldn't help but approach Marcus during the rugby match, and Fiona was awesome.

So excited that they are having a supper for two :DD
