So thrilled you updated so this could be my bedtime story! I loved this - great explanation for how the ill feeling towards Marcus came about and then Esca's plan to put an end to the Coventry.

I loved the little wibble Marcus experienced and then how Esca reassured him. He's revealing a lot of himself, isn't he? BECAUSE HE'S IN LOVE! *hearts in my eyes*

Oh Fanny, I love him, with his ready smile and his chubby, chipolata fingers, and the wife with her chilblains and amazing cooking. How sweet that he's willing to forego his lovely meals in order to help Marcus - so looking forward to seeing how that turns out

I'm glad this chapter has continued the giddy pleasure - I was completely expecting something BAD and AWFUL to happen. So relieved that Esca has spoken to Fanny and is sticking up for Marcus in some way, even if he doesn't feel comfortable sitting with him himself (which is completely understandable to me, given the time and circumstances, even if I'm disappointed in him).

So I'll go on expecting something BAD and AWFUL for the next chapter, then...Although if they can get in some happiness with each other on their night off, I'll be very happy to postpone any miseries for as long as possible.

It's one of my absolute favorites in this fandom and the chapter didn't disappoint :) God, Esca is in love, it's wonderful and made me want to hug him so, so hard :D
