I've been dreading this talk-- I had an inkling what Esca might say but I was so scared it was going to be something awful and Marcus was going to walk away :(((

Which I guess means you're doing a fantastic job at putting your readers into your characters' mindset!

So glad this ended well for them <3

*dies of awesomeness* I was like Esca, holding my breath waiting for Marcus's reaction! ahhh so many feelings!!

and this ♥
“I don't know what you have to tell me, but you must understand that there's nothing, not one single matter, that would turn me away from you now.”

..I eagerly await whatever comes next.

Beautifully done - the period atmosphere is spot-on, the backstory is wonderful, and I was as worried as Esca about what Marcus would say when he told him...

I'm so glad their relationship is already strong enough to weather this. And I really hope Esca does go to Italy for his holidays, he needs a break and some decent food and warmth (among other things...)

Excellent chapter. Esca's revelation was beautifully worded, with all of his self-doubt and fear perfectly expressed. Marcus' reaction was perfect as well; he didn't judge, he simply reassured Esca of his feelings.

I hope they do go to Italy, amica mia. That bit in the beginning of the chapter, with Marcus talking about how he loved freshly grilled sardines, made me think of pasta chi sardi (pasta with sardines, in Sicilian Italian), sometimes served with finocchiu (fennel, in Sicilian), so now I'm starving!

I adore this fic, please update soon. Presto, per favore.
