Oh no, my heart is breaking! It can't end like this (please say it won't). Poor, poor Marcus. They love each other, for Chrissake! Stupid bloody Stew. I love the way you wrote Marcus in this chapter, and the quiet, gentle dignity with which he retreated when Esca sent him away.

Pleeeease update soon!!! Readers need to know what happens next. Dio mio!

A piu presto (hopefully).

I knew this was coming, bus it till hurts so much. There is an evocative wistfulness of desire and love across this all story, and the underlining reality that many people went through this and were denied their happiness because of bigotry, and it is poignant and real.

I am invested in their lives, and their well-being and I cannot wait for more. You are doing an AMAZING job with this story.

I'm so utterly in love with this fic. It's so rich with emotion and detail and the love between them is wonderfully layered and deep and so very real while remaining very, very romantic. And hot as hell. My heart is breaking for them both. Cannot wait for the next installments.

With a broken heart I write these words...

I loved the whole shooting competition, it was a beautifully written scene, the narrative so vivid I was easily able to picture it all in my mind's eye - beautiful writing. Esca's pride in Marcus was tangible and I felt as excited as he did (though I wasn't quite getting the same hard-on by it, that he was!). I loved that Stew jumped to Marcus' defence - he went up another notch in my estimation for that. I loved how you left the outcome of the competition unknown at the end of that section, leaving me to quickly scan on to make sure they'd done it! :)

The scene in the pub made me smile. I loved this imagery: Esca smiled as Marcus rolled his eyes, that bashful grin breaking out, Esca's heart wriggling around on its back like a puppy wanting its tummy rubbed. It had me grinning like a loon. I grinned at Stew's manipulation of Mrs Carmichael - that seemed very in character ( ... )

Oh - I am heartbroken too - and the fact that this was inevitable does nothing to lessen the hurt. Once again, brilliantly written and characterized and then just when we thought Stew was on our side he had to be the one to find out...
And this waiting for the axe to fall is horrible. How am I going to sleep tonight?
