Hi, I'm a brand-spankin' new hobbyist beekeeper in the making, located in Virginia's northern Shenandoah Valley. So new in fact I won't actually hive a colony until the 2nd or 3rd of May. I'm in the process of assembling my brood boxes this weekend and was just curious as to whether or not it's a good idea to paint the inside of the bottom board. Obviously I'm not painting any other part of the interior, but I figure if that part is potentially going to be draining water and various other hive goop a coat of latex might offer a little protection from rot.
Thanks up front for your input and patience! I'm sure I'll have more questions over the coming weeks :B
