Following on from my post last week...

I inspected the hive on Saturday and saw three uncapped queen cells containing larvae & royal jelly...couldn't find the queen. I called my mentor (for want of a better term - the chap from the association who brought me the hive & said I could contact him for any advice & support) & he said we'd probably need to artificially swarm them. I know - it happened while I was at work & they don't appear to have set up shop anywhere obvious nearby...

it seems to be swarming season :(

I cut out several swarm cells on Friday, I'm going on Wed to do a split (with my mentor)

thanks for the description, its nice to see an outline of what will happen if they haven't already swarmed. I keep reading stuff but this was a very clear synopsis. :)
