So I was outside with my youngest child. While he rode his tricycle, I was working on a wood project. Mainly I was just sanding down some wood to prep it for giving it a coat of polyurethane.
My husband is bee-phobic (your son is far braver than he!) so I found an outyard for my bees a couple of miles away. It's worked out well, the guy has 9 acres and borders a state park so pesticides are not a huge deal
I hadn't thought of doing that! If my sister-in-law doesn't agree to it or if the day comes where I have more hives than she's comfortable with, I'll definitely try that. Thanks for the idea. :)
I got alot of responses so I was able to pick and choose the site.. the guy gives me ready access and is rarely home, which is great.
keep us posted if you wind up setting up some hives! Its my second year, I'm a 'vegan beek' (not on purpose, but my hives went queenless so no honey this year or last year LOL) but I still enjoy my bees, even without the bounty.
