Every time I open a new round of the
quicky_bang I worry a little about participation and every time I'm blown away by the enthusiasm of authors offering up their short stories. I love that I get to discover so many lovely little gems in fandom and that I get to play with beloved characters in new situations. How do y'all come up with these beauties? My first claim is a must-read from an outsider perspective. A very special point of view from... a car, that is getting very excited upon seeing the Winchesters and Baby! Well, we all know that feeling, right? May I present:

The Making Of!
Pencil sketches and set up; it's an official heatwave over here, so I have my feet in the water and a fan in my face to keep cool while papercutting:)
Before I continue with the final sketch, I make a quick digital lay-out to test how I can fit text in there.
I make an outline drawing for the papercutting: I'm using silver and black paper.
After cutting out the shape of the car, I'm adding details with pencil and marker.
I've had so much fun colouring in the Land of Art, I want to play with coloured pencils for the rest of this banner. First step is to make a clean outline of Baby:) I trace the outline of the definitive drawing in black biro and then it's time to colour \o/
I choose three greens for the background and then add yellow paper for the foreground. (Besides Susie the car, I also put Dean's feet and the bucket on top of this paperlayer.)
Cutting the finishing touch: heart eyes! I also add some naughty details from the story.
After some test photos, I heighten the background before doing final photography. Tadaah!
I made one tiny edit in the banner image, after I discovered one of the hearteyes got stuck behind the bonnet; in this heat I didn't have the energy for another photoshoot, pfff. I also made a tiny adjustment to the colour of the original photo. And that's it:)
