Maybe the election will also be an eye-opener to all the Democrats who believe that everyone in the country hates Bush. The Democrats bitched after the 2000 election, and rightfully so. The electoral college is worthless, but it's the system we have. Now the Democrats have nothing to complain about. Bush won a significant majority of both the popular and electoral votes, and Republicans gained seats in both the House and Senate. If anything, this will empower Bush to do more of the things he's been doing, because it shows that more than half of the people DO agree with what he's done in the past. He moved a little more toward the middle in the past few months because all the negative media coverage (except from blatantly right wing Fox) led him to believe that the country hated him. Now, he knows that this isn't true. And if Howard the Screamer becomes head of the DNC, God help the Donkeys, because they'll need it.
