Piper was starting to get frustrated with the lack of information she seemed to have, so she wandered next door to see if maybe Anders or Cole knew anything more.
Sam shuffled out of the study when he heard the knock on the door, and if it was any indication of his state of mind he didn't even think to muster up some appearance of hostility when he saw Piper.
"Hey," he said roughly, gesturing her back into the study.
"Wish I could sense you," Sam added, feeling oddly better for saying these things out loud even though he was only talking to himself. "But I can't, not with you g -- gone. I swear we'll get you back though, babe. I promised."
Despite the news of yesterday, Cole hadn't slept, either. His mind was too concerned by going over what he knew and what they could possibly do to save Phoebe -- and kill Anton as slowly and painfully as possible, of course.
Late in the morning he wandered into the study to check on Sam. "Hey," he said softly.
"I probably look better than I feel," Sam admitted ruefully. "You don't look so hot yourself, though. Did you at least have the good, inspired kind of sleep deprivation?"
