Sam was restless again. "Getting kind of antsy," Sam confessed. About several things, granted, but the main one being . . .

"My girls are gonna be here really soon!"

That, judging from the grin that lit up his face brightly enough to make his Christmas display suffer fits of inadequacy, was the happiest reason.

"Seemed like the thing to do," Sam answered. "Only known Christmas for about fifteen years, and most of 'em weren't so great. I got a lot of years to make up for in there."
