"Hey, Tori," Sam replied, sparing her a quick smile as he descended from the ladder. "I guess I got a little carried away, didn't I?"

"Getting kind of antsy," Sam confessed. About several things, granted, but the main one being . . .

"My girls are gonna be here really soon!"

That, judging from the grin that lit up his face brightly enough to make his Christmas display suffer fits of inadequacy, was the happiest reason.

"What the hell are you doing?" Cole said as he stepped out on the porch.

"Decorating," Sam called out from precarious position with one foot on the ladder and one on the molding. "What's it look like?"

"Like landing lights for a 767," Cole said, shaking his head with amusement.

Sam winced, and wobbled, and flailed helplessly for a moment before grabbing the ladder to steady himself.

"Oh, tell me you can't see this from space."
