Cole wandered into the living room, looking for Sam. He hadn't had a chance to talk to him about Natalie yet, but he wanted to make sure he did before he -- or Phoebe -- ran into her.
"Hey," he said, pushing Sam's legs aside enough to give him room to sit on the couch.
As if she knew that she had been mentioned (and she probably did), Phoebe had decided to come downstairs after making sure the twins were really asleep this time and not just pretending to be. Their new game lately had been what Phoebe named "Let's Pretend To Be Asleep Long Enough For Mommy To Get To The Door And Then Demand She Come Back."
The twins? Thought it was fun. Phoebe? Not so much.
"What's going to be bad?" Phoebe demanded as she came into the living room and dropped onto the other couch.
Cole exchanged a glance with Sam, then moved over to join Phoebe on the other couch. "I met a woman the other day," he said. "She looked like the one who wanted to take Sam and the girls, but she says she's not the same woman."
