He'd gone tearing out of the house after finding out what had happened to Dean's room on a hunch -- it would have been more than a hunch if he'd talked to Piper or watched the news, but as he'd done neither Sam was purely acting on a hunch

"Go away," a voice growled from the darkness.

Okay, maybe not completely absurd. "Bel?" he ventured, taking a step or two in the direction of the voice. "C-Cole? It's me, Anders."

Maybe it was a stupid thing to do, making himself a target like that, but both times before, Cole had a chance to kill him and hadn't. Sam was banking on that slim possibility.

"I said go away!" He kept himself hidden, crouching behind a large tombstone.

"I thought you said I belonged to you," Sam said cautiously, taking another step forward but still ready to run like hell if he had to. "I thought you wanted what was yours. Why do you want me to go away now?"
