[Character information]
Name: Clint Barton | Hawkeye
Canon: The Avengers (MCU)
Canon Point: Pre-exploding of the helicarrier.
Age: 33.

Appearance:

Clint Barton is a lean, mean, muscle machine. Not very daunting at first glance, Clint's body has been trained and formed as a body of an acrobat (something he worked as before his association to SHIELD). He stands at 5'10" with grayish-blue eyes; usually seen wearing a standard SHIELD uniform. During his down time, Clint usually wears darker shades of purple/red and black. Clothing that he usually finds as comfortable to move in and usually with enough free range around the arms for combat.

Inventory:

• Collapsible bow.
• Modified quiver and arrows.
• The clothes on his back -- Standard SHIELD regs.
• A wallet with some change and a credit card he really doesn't pay attention too?

Abilities:

Ability wise, Clint is a mortal man. He isn't some ridiculous billionaire with a suit, a super soldier, or a man who turns into a giant green rage monster. His only benefit that has made him remarkable is his above average eyesight, reflexes, and skill sets that he has obtained through his SHIELD training. This is not including his handling of his bow and arrow. With the above average eyesight and reflexes, Clint is an excellent marksman. Claiming he's actually 'the world's best marksman' when people ask him about it. The talent has made him one of SHIELD's top assassins, pairing him up with Black Widow for their starting line up when the Avengers needed more of a human touch.

As an agent of SHIELD, Clint is also trained in many forms of hand-to-hand combat or the use of different non-projectile and projectile weaponry. Though he is not as good as Natasha, he comes close when it comes to the fact that he is also a spy and has skilled tactics in the art of lying and deception. His skillset when it comes to marksmanship typically doesn't call for him to get close to targets as much as it calls for him to kill them from afar.

History:

Clinton Barton was the younger of two sons born to a small business proprietor and his wife. When his parents were killed in an automobile accident when he was eight, Barton and his brother were placed in the state orphanage. At fourteen, Clint and Barney Barton ran away from the institute to join a traveling carnival. There Clint Barton apprenticed himself to the carnival's star attraction, the mysterious rogue known only as the Swordsman. Recognizing Clint's natural flair for archery, the Swordsman agreed to tutor him in the art, while Barney was relegated to menial work.

For eight hours every day for four years, the younger Barton practiced with bow and arrow, soon becoming good enough to perform professionally as a trick shooter under than name of Hawkeye the Marksman. When Barton was eighteen, he accidentally discovered that his mentor was stealing from the carnival management. When the boy refused to become his partner in crime, the Swordsman chased Barton up onto a tightrope and cut it out from under him. The Swordsman left him for dead and fled the carnival. Found by his brother Barney, Clint Barton was rushed to a hospital and eventually recovered from the compound fractures to his legs. A year later, he rejoined the carnival and resumed his act. Personality:

Seemingly a trait throughout some of the Avengers (and SHIELD's) best members, Clint Barton is someone who enjoys the pressure of being in a life-or-death situation. The type of person who doesn't respect anyone until they've done something in Clint's eyes to earn his respect -- before Tony Stark became associated with SHIELD he was usually the one who was the first to rattle off to the people above him who didn't think of him anything more than some guy with a good shot. Clint will happy show people that not only is he a good shot, but the best one in the world. A title he has happily coined for himself over the years of training under some of the best.

For the most part, most people know Clint as the simple, confident, (most of the time) charismatic fellow that he is. Clint's an easy going sort of guy when it comes to everything he does in life. Because of his taste for the dangerous, he really doesn't bring too much stress onto himself. When things are stressful, he can be one of the first to put out a little quip to lighten the mood but he can reel it all the way back in if it calls for it. He does happen to love his job. Armed with the amazing talent of turning any situation into one that benefits him, he hardly allows people to one up him in scenarios where most people thing someone with no super powers versus someone with superpowers would fall into the more likely of choices. Needless to say, he is constantly pushing himself to compete with the people who are seen more as 'heroes' in the public eye. Compared to a man who carries a bow and sits on the roof tops.

The type of guy who doesn't do a job if it's not worth doing right. When Clint is set up with a task, he usually performs with everything that he's got. It makes his loyalty to the side he's chosen unquestionable. Though when things are questionable to him his loyalty in the higher powers may waver -- the best example of this is when he undoubtedly brought in one of SHIELD's best spies, Natasha Romanoff. Instead of killing her as he was meant too, Clint questioned the decision and went with his gut. It worked out for the best. If there is something Clint doesn't agree with, he will fight it. Even if it means putting his neck on the line to do so. He does it because he doesn't believe putting himself in a position where he has to question his own actions is worth it.

Because of his past, Clint has a difficult trusting people. When it comes to male role models in his life, there have always been some present and those have always ruined his expectations for the others in the future. He doesn't hold too many expectations out of the people around him because of this. It hasn't been because people have let him down in the past, it's been because the people he's allowed close have broken him down in his past. The closest relationships he has now belong solely to Natasha Romanoff and Phil Coulson. Both of which he has continuously worked closely off of during his years in SHIELD and the pair haven't let him down yet.

Armed with a sharp wit, it's easy to say that Clint usually is someone who charges head-on when it comes to a hopeless situation. It's not as if he minds, he lives with a semi-deathwish with whatever he decides to do.
