Black, Sirius
■ ■ ■
A British young man who comes up in the Newcomer news every so often. I worked with Edgeworth to free him from an AGI slave auction, though it was he and his friend Kelly's attempts to save someone that got them up to their necks in the first place. Reckless, but not a bad kid.
He seems to be something of a rebellious prankster. I think certain parties would be more comfortable if his pranks were a little less likely to get him arrested, though. He reminds me a lot of someone... it couldn't hurt to keep an eye on him.
Notes:
- Close friends with Jack Kelly. Look for both of them when one ends up in trouble.
- Godot #90: That mild taste will fool you, 9 times out of 10.
Butz, Larry
■ ■ ■
Seems to be a friend of Wright's. An artist? From the way Edgeworth and the others treat him, he also seems to be a colossal idiot. I can tolerate him better than Wright, though, so I wonder what that says about me? Ha...!
Notes:
- Friend of Wright and Edgeworth
- Hosts a halfway decent party
- Understands metaphors to a disturbing degree
- Godot #58: Doesn't quite know how it wants to taste, and often leaves a bizarre flavor in your mouth-- but always interesting.
Creed, Raul
■ ■ ■
Shared a hospital room with him back in October. I've worked with him in some capacity on the Newcomer Political Party. A decent guy, acquainted with Yumeno somehow (it would seem they're from the same "world.") Anybody who can trade sarcasm with me deserves respect-- you never know when I'll need to star in my own comedy routine.
Notes:
- Emotionally collected like you rarely see. He'd make a good lawyer.
- Godot #93: Smooth and sophisticated with little spikes of sharp bitterness every so often.
Death
■ ■ ■ ■
Owner of SS Kahve, my usual coffee shop over in Sector 3. Makes a fantastic cup of Turkish. A kind individual, seems to get along with me fairly well. Also claims to be the personification of death. I'd normally be skeptical, but the Twilight Zone doesn't hold up much to skepticism. I suppose death and I would be well-acquainted anyway? Ha...!
Notes:
- Claims to be present for the birth and death of every living thing (didn't ask about microorganisms)
- Godot #77: Blacker than a moonless night, mysterious in flavor and enchantingly hard to describe.
Edgeworth, Miles
■ ■ ■ ■
My colleague at the prosecutor's office. Nobody back in L.A. could shut up about him for five minutes. It's apparent why-- the kid's a legal genius, no argument here. He's also annoyingly self-righteous, nosy, preachy and naggier than the mother-in-law of your nightmares. Can't say much for his fashion sense either. A tremendous stick-in-the-mud, though, so he's a riot to tease.
Still, he's a talented attorney and good to a fault. I consider him a friend reliable. What can I say? I like him.
Notes:
- Old Greg Edgeworth's son (and it shows, big time-- do not bring this up)
- Friends with Wright and Butz (can't say much for his taste in friends, either)
- Knows him.
- A white suit and cravat? Really? I thought the multicolor frilly vest was bad.
- Godot #28: Delicate flavor, mild in bitterness-- but so loaded with caffeine it'll never give up on you.
Fey, Maya
■ ■ ■ ■ ■
Younger sister of Mia Fey. A spirit channeler from the Kurain tradition, destined to be the Master of the Kurain Village. Somehow finds herself wrapped up in more trouble than any other person alive, and not through her own actions, either. I'd never met her before, but I heard a lot about her from her sister. I took her in when she first arrived to watch out for her (and good thing I did.) She's since rearranged my apartment, broken at least one coffee machine (I suspect she just didn't tell me about missing parts on the other three) and invited Wright into my place secretly. I buy her, on average, six full-sized burger meals a week.
She's just as caring and stubborn as her sister. She's worried about me and desperately wants to help, no matter how I shove her away. Her kindness and affection have become... very important. She's as close to me as anyone's ever been, like a daughter little sister. I will do anything to keep her from being hurt. Anything.
Notes:
- Currently the second-largest drain on my checking account, right after coffee supplies
- Has a tendency to blame herself for everything that happens
- Extremely close friends with Phoenix Wright. Avoid mocking him in front of her.
- I don't know all the details about channeling, still.
- She keeps picking up my speech patterns. Bad influence? Ha...!
- Godot #17. Calm, comforting and cozy-- just like homemade.
Fey, Mia
■ ■ ■ ■ ■
There isn't much I haven't said about her.
Notes:
- Godot #42: Sweet, spicy and always intoxicating.
Fey, Pearl
■ ■ ■ ■ ■
Mia and Maya's younger cousin. Her mother, Morgan Fey, is imprisoned for life after attempting to frame Maya for a murder (and I doubt that will be the last we hear from her.) Fortunately the daughter is nothing like the mother. Sweet kid, fairly shy. She trusts Maya and Wright more than anyone else and as such I haven't gotten to talk to her so much. She's cute though. I'll watch out for her just as I would Maya.
Notes:
- Prodigal talent in spirit channeling
- Convinced Wright and Maya are in a relationship?
- Godot #9: Mild and pleasant, sweet as candy for the more gentle types.
Justice, Apollo
■ ■ ■
Comes from some incredibly disturbing future where Wright has a protege of his own, though that's hardly his fault. Wright's partner at his law firm in the city. Highly excitable, nervous, jumpy, etc... decent kid though. Ha...! I've got a few things I'd like to show him how to pull on his mentor. Must continue the fine tradition, after all.
1/26/11- Disappeared, presumed dead. I have to admit I'm a little down about it.
Notes:
- Jesus is this kid loud.
- What is going on with his hair?
- Godot #14: The ultimate wake up call, sharp and caffeinated.
Kelly, Jack
■ ■ ■
A charming little Brooklyn born street-punk type type. I don't know him very well but I worked with Edgeworth to rescue him from an AGI slave auction. From what I've seen, he's got a lot in common with a younger version of somebody I used to know. I hate to admit it gives me a bit of a soft spot for him.
Still, I know the type. I'll keep an eye out for him from a distance.
Notes:
- Close friends with Black
- Edgeworth has no end of trouble with the two of them.
- Godot #10: Dangerously unpredictable in its youthful flavor and sharp acidity, but with a hazelnut aftertaste that makes it all worthwhile.
Mayer, Re-l
■ ■ ■ ■ ■
Another acquaintance of Yumeno's, an officer at the local precinct. Quite possibly the only one I trust, too. A hard worker, concentrated and skilled at her job. I prefer her to be on my cases whenever possible, just to avoid that nasty "corrupt psychopaths railroading the legal system" thing that seems to happen around here.
Notes:
- Close with Yumeno. Haven't asked for details.
- Edgeworth is quite fond of her (should probably taunt him about this sometime.)
- Godot #49: Dark and smoky, but inexplicably smooth and drinkable.
Oerba Dia Vanille
■ ■ ■
An extremely chipper and pleasant young lady who does not take no for an answer. Good Samaritan, caught me in bad shape on the train one day and decided to follow me home. Nice kid though. She brought me an excellent coffee cake.
Notes:
- Wonder how she's doing...
- I also wonder if she's a natural white.
- Godot #99: Persistently strong and flavorful, even five minutes after you've swallowed your last gulp.
Rochelle
■ ■ ■ ■
Loud, but kind woman I've spoken with on several occasions. She seems to have good taste in coffee, since she's asked me for some of my blends before. A fine acquaintance.
Notes:
- Likes guns more than I would have expected.
- Godot #57: Sneaks up on you, starting off gentle and mild but every so often, so spicy your ears will smoke.
Roxas
■ ■ ■ ■
Works at SS Kahve, so I see him most days. Seems like a decent kid. Came to me asking for help with the shop's struggling business soon after I got here, but I won't take credit for the increase in sales. Except for those I bought myself, ha...! Anyway, I don't know too much about him but he's a friendly face, at least.
Notes:
- Godot #1: A beginner's blend, full of potential for all the things yet to come.
Von Karma, Franziska
■ ■ ■ ■
Another prosecutor from the district in Los Angeles. Apparently, Lady Von Whippenburg here started at the age of 13, being the daughter of old Manny von Karma and all. Haughty, arrogant and always swinging that whip of hers around left and right. Seems like I must have pissed her off in another dimension or something, since she isn't too fond of me. Ha...! People are all too ready to despise that which they don't understand. That's one of my rules.
Can't deny she's a good prosecutor though.
Notes:
- She and Edgeworth are close as siblings.
- Godot #65: So harsh you can barely get it down, but it'll surprise you with a mild aftertaste.
TriteWright, Phoenix
■ ■ ■ ■
A dense, spiky-headed twit of an excuse for a defense attorney. An oblivious moron who wanders through life with no regard for the consequences of his actions. A sniveling, stubborn wimp who doesn't know when to leave well enough alone. Everybody seems to fawn over what a great guy he is, which does nothing but make him more irritating.
I've lost to him twice, though even an idiot could have known his clients were not guilty. He seems to have half a talent in the courtroom, or else Mia wouldn't have taken him as a protege. Her, Maya and Edgeworth are both immensely fond of him, so I find myself having to hold my tongue.
I guess he's not that bad.
Notes:
- Mia's protege, friend of Maya and Edgeworth
- What kind of stupid porcupine-ass excuse for a haircut is that?
- White tie on white shirt. The amateur.
- Looks better with coffee running down his face, ha...! And I can't decide which blend is best suited for landing on his head.
- Needs to quit trying to make amends with me for something he doesn't even understand.
- August 27th.
- Yeah, he grows on you. Like eczema.
- Incessant do-gooder. It's almost pathetic how hard it is to stay pissed off at him.
Yagami, Light
■ ■
Student and amateur philosopher. Rarely knows what he's talking about. I roll my eyes whenever he has something to say to me.
Notes:
- Godot #23: All over the place. I couldn't decide which way to go with the flavor, making it nearly impossible for anyone to detect the real taste.
Yew, Calisto
■ ■
A defense attorney of some merit from back home. I remember working with her on a few cases. She always had a problem with laughing at inappropriate times. As it later turned out, she wasn't who she seemed to be, and she disappeared at some point, never to be seen again. I'm frankly surprised she's back around myself.
Maybe she doesn't remember the time Diego asked her out...
Notes:
- Godot #54: Tastes nothing like it seems to at first-- but you never know whether it will get sweeter or more bitter. Seems to depend on the day.
Yumeno, Daedalus
■ ■ ■ ■ ■
My doctor over at Skye Medical Center. I hate doctors. But he's a good guy. He's big on ethics and respecting patient wishes, which means he's only tried to talk me out of drinking coffee once or twice before he decided it was a waste of time. Has gone above and beyond to provide for my condition, which I appreciate more than I'll ever let him know. Wouldn't want to come off like a sap now, would I?
Still. I trust him, which is saying a lot for someone in his profession. I'll have his back should he ever need a good attorney on his side.
Notes:
- Acquainted with Creed and Mayer. From the same "world," I gather.
- My main contact with regards to my condition and my... ugh. "Powers."
- Also my main contact with regards to my prescriptions (which he's really gone beyond protocol to provide... in a sense.)
- Godot #105: Reliable, always good for a quick pick-me-up and surprisingly, works pretty well as a placebo.
