new work laptop for new work

I know that most of us are more reliant on technology now, but I had to get a new laptop for work, and heavens is it a pain in the butt. I spent hours on it yesterday (while watching TV at least), and I'm maybe halfway done. The amount of software I use to do my job-- and the complexity of installing and configuring most of it-- is staggering

Honestly, I had to lug my 15" Macbook Pro (which is relatively light!) back and forth for a little over a month and it drove me nuts. I don't know how people do it all the time with heavier machines. I think the whole combination of frustrations makes feeling a little irritated by it pretty justifiable. That's a bummer about the change in job role stuff. I hope you wind up liking it more than you expect. :D
