It depends on your weight/history/liver function, but one drink a day and a few on weekends isn't necessarily unhealthy.

Thanks. There is addiction in my family, but I think it makes me paranoid enough that I'm more worried about unnecessary calories than slipping into liver-damaging (or life-damaging) levels. I'm not hugely overweight, but I could definitely bear to lose 10-20 pounds, for both health and vanity.

The work party was indeed a blast. I'm a lucky guy.
