so, my parents' visit is drawing to a close. they've been here for just over two weeks. i'm quite torn -- i'm very ready for them to go home, and have been for over a week, but i'm also not eager for them to go back to being so very far away. parents are best, i think, when they are situated just offscreen

i think it depends on why you don't want to return to baltimore. i feel that portland is my true home but a mixture of shame over all the stupid shit i did there and horrible experiences i had there while growing up, and also the total 100% absence of jobs i would take there, these things mean i will never live there again...but in various ways i try to convince myself that i don't really WANT to live in portland again (when in some horrible ways i really do). is it that way with you and baltimore? incidentally, i am hoping that baltimore will become my new home and totally supplant portland in my mind

also, i don't think i would be very happy living in a city which was home 100% of the time--no matter how much i continue to love baltimore i think i will always feel the need to go somewhere else for the duration of summer.
