• Oldest son running for Congress
• 2nd oldest son in the US Army deploying to Afghanistan in less than 2 weeks
• Oldest daughter having just moved out and on her own in Williamsburg, meaning new job, new surroundings, etc. (at 20)

After a very nice mini vacation to Disneyworld, Orlando with my littlest, Ian, I am back at it. Of course, during the trip, I sketched new ideas while sitting by the pool. So today is turning out to be just as good as yesterday!!!!  All of my fabrics and trims came and I have ordered the imported coutil to restock my supply. The mock up is finished and it is EXACTLY as I had planned in my head. Need to find cool buckles for the straps, but other than that I'm good to go. Just waiting for the fitting next weekend. Today has been an extremely good day. A box arrived from Dragontown which contained tons of boning of all types, as well as more grommets, busks, etc! Welp! I've continued my search for the perfect white fabric for the Queen Anne corset. Even though the Tommy Bahama Ocean fabric is on its way, I wanted to have a choice in fabrics and be able to drape a bit to decide which looked best with the corset style. BUT, I overdid it a bit. Design and flat is complete and sent to the client. I really wanted to make this corset in white with slight black trim, however, I fell in love with a Tommy Bahama fabric that is a darker blue with tan crewel and had to order it. Finished the Bliss corset on time and as promised. 300 hand applied tiny swarovski crystals. Ended up working til 3 am on these. I realize that you can purchase fabric with crystals already applied, but they aren't swarovski and I wanted to be creative with my placement.  The result? . . . the bride to be got teary eyed when she first saw  the ( Read more... )

Half way through Hannah's jumps made in white canvas outer with a very soft cotton inner. It will be interesting to see how much back support this corset gives. I'm determined to work this one until I get the desired support I need and probably many others need also. Solely using half inch bones.No busk. Lacing with grommets in front.
