Theoretically one could add a recorder into the mix somewhere, but, as is, no. Would be fun though.

I was looking into doing something like this. Glad to see someone pull it off. When you say you used a color camera, are you referring to a point and shoot camera, or something like a mini-cam that you'd attach to an RC helicopter? I was looking into the later but unclear about the connections.

I mean a spy camera. Aka A lens to funnel real-time video back to the goggles.

No it was a gift. But it's just a spy camera with a line out. very basic design. if you get one with A/V out then you can simply skip the step of using a 2nd A/V connector to connect to the A/V of the goggles. If you want a smaller lens go with a pinhole camera.
