making the best cough syrup in the world right now

12 cloves garlic, lightly chopped
3/4  cup honey

heat these for 15 minutes on low heat,  add 3 TBsps of Brandy & 2 TBsps of lemon juice,
allow to cool, strain out the garlic.  will kill any cough you get this winter

Any ideas what to substitute for the brandy if I can't do alcohol?
