Personality: In an anime where characters are all based off of fairy tales, Ringo fills an obvious role: Little Red Riding Hood. She is “always cute and always polite” from the urging of her mother when she was younger, and keeps that in mind throughout life. It’s incredibly hard to get on her bad side, and even if someone were to react harshly against her she would return it with a smile (unless they were a thug, but that’s a different matter).
In line with the fairy tale Ringo may seem almost too trusting, showing up in a classmate’s dorm to find them sick and proceeding to clean and cook them dinner while they slept because she felt bad for them. After they woke up she insisted on caring them back to health, and pretty much decided that they would be friends. That classmate? The wolf, Ryouko.
Ringo cares deeply for her friends at Otogi Bank. While she can’t provide much in terms of offense when things get rough, she is skilled in surveillance, and on multiple occasions is relaying information or watching behind a tree as back up. She is also able to stay calm even in stressful situations; when her half-sister nearly drowns in the pool she takes charge and performs CPR on her despite their rocky relationship.
However, most of the characters in Ookami-san are a mixture of fairy tales. Ringo’s name translates to “red apple”, as in the poisoned apple from Snow White. She knows how to get what she wants, when she wants it, and manipulates others to get it. That sweet exterior slips on occasion with a twisted grin, and she has a definite trickster side to her. She teases Ryouko about her relationship with Morino quite a bit, subtly saying the right things to get a flustered reaction. She also has a bit of a perverted side, remarking that she “wouldn’t mind if Ryouko found joy in same-sex relationships” and making mentions to eroge.
In addition to her twisted nature, she isn’t nearly as cheerful as she lets on to others. Ringo blames herself for ruining her half-sister’s life (Ringo’s mother essentially kicked her and her family out of her husband’s house) and even after they end up in the same school avoids her at all costs. She’s convinced that Himeno hates her, and is afraid to confront her until she’s put in danger.
Abilities: She’s only got normal human powers! She's also good with spying on people and CPR.
