No Kitty for me . . . Time to seek a different kitty

Try to not think of the cat situation as a personal rejection! After all, the kitty was claimed before you applied, so you can't even blame fate. The important thing is that kitty found a home--please be grateful for that. I'm a big fan of the Animal Humane Society for adopting animals. It's where I found both of my cats, including our most recent one, who was an adult when we got her and was down to the very last few hours of her adoptable life before she would have been put down. She turned out to be the sweetest thing on earth.

Sorry about the cat. We were looking at adopting another dog, but someone else got to her first, maybe just a sign of it not being the right time. But be happy that kitty found a family to love her and care for her, even if that family is not yours. Sadly, it's not like there's a stray cat shortage. Might I recommend an all-black one? I have a special spot in my heart for the little fuzz-butts, and shelters sometimes have a hard time adopting them out because people are superstitious about them.
