you remember when i took comlit? it wasn't hard, just tedious.

sean took both in the same day, comlit and history.
coming from a camping trip.
with a headcold.
with no study materials.

check on the study materials for Mandarin, though -- there might be some stuff you think about differently due to the way you learned, or other stuff. go in prepared, and you'll ace it.

This is my memory we're talking about. We're lucky I remember you going to college! : )

I just wanted to go in as prepared as I could, and honestly brushing up on grammar has helped a lot for my summer job (I've been teaching E.L.L. at a private school). But, I'm glad to get the ComLit out of the way.

Unfortunately no study materials really exist for the Mandarin beyond the D.O.E.'s booklet. So, I'm working on my own. I am honestly worried about it since I'll have to learn about 1,000 more characters between now and then, and they ask you to have a solid grasp of Chinese history (yup, all 5000 years of it). Being realistic about my Chinese skills, I think it's safe to say that I won't pass the first time around. I'm not being pessimistic, I'm just still a long way away from the level they require. I'll be working hard between now and then to get as close as I can, but I'm glad I have the option to retake it this April.
