A lot of stuff has been happening lately. Over spring break, I'm going to finish American History H. online and I plan on finishing the first semester of English 4 H if not the rest of it. I have three sort of jobs over spring break, maybe four ( Read more... )

solar powers rule. (so do windmills)

Sorry, but I agree with your mom. You should save your $ for something you need more than a nice car... such as saving a bunch up so you can move to Colorado or wherever after college. Deffinantly not a cheap thing to do. Try to stay out of debt as much as possible, because once you start getting loans, they just keep building up exponentially.

Just get a used '02 Honda Civil. Very reliable, fairly cheap, good gas mileage, and its not a minivan.

I do think you should go up to Gainesville though. Your brother moved there, why can't you? You'll even be with him, so I don't see what the big deal is.

I'm pretty good with my money. I know how to save.. I have a long and involved process of how I keep my money in order and stuff. But yeah.. I would go to school and get a job and figure out what percentage of my paychecks I could save and have little to spend on things that I don't need. I'm already getting into the whole "oh hey, that's free. I'll take it." I've already gotten stuff free for college. It's awesome.

Solar panels, unless they have a MASSIVE surface area, typically provide a very low voltage and current, unless technology has jumped insanely in the last 5 years. I used to do experiments with them when I was like 11 or 12, trying to power calculators, charge batteries, etc. I usually could get something like 0.2 V out of the one I had, which was probably about 24 cm^2.

It's not supposed to charge your phone or mp3 player within a matter of 3 minutes. I'll send you the site sometime. I first saw it on some Home Improvement show and then I went and looked it up online and I thought it was cool. You know... save energy, use the resource that won't really burn out anytime soon in my lifetime. You can get different kinds too. But I found one that I'm probably going to settle with.
