It's inappropriate to ask someone for a letter of recommendation for a job if that someone is the one to whom you must submit your application, isn't it?

I think it'd be kind of endearing, actually. But I don't really know if it would be appropriate.

Don't know about inappropriate, but perhaps redundant.

is this CM? why don't you shoot him an email and ask him if it would be ok for you to use him as a rec?

well, it's for clv, and he's apparently the chairperson of the committee making the hiring decision.
I talked to my boss from this summer, and he said it sounds like I don't have to knock myself out to get this job, I just need to put "up a good showing" as in "tell them that you want it, and give em your cv so they know you are qualified." The rest is up to them. I AM getting less than a weeks notice here. Anyway, we're hoping they hire either me or Heidi, who was the de Facto 2 week curriculum coordinator/my assistant/my co-counselor/my other half this summer. Either way, we've got continuity, and that's what we're after.
miss you.
