Rei was waiting at their meeting spot. Usually if Masao wasn't out there by a certain time he'd walk to school by himself, but he saw Masao coming and frowned at his expression. His stepdad couldn't of done anything it was too early he'd be sleeping. He'd find out though.

Masao stopped briefly next to Rei. He didn't speak. Instead, the boy looked at his friend with somewhat pleading eyes. He still felt guilty of something.

"Masao what happened?" Rei finally asked when his concern became too great.

"I-" he started, trying to figure out what did happen. "I did something really bad...to Kira." He spoke almost in a daze.
