Being a brief diversion on the dubious origins of the overheard conversation topic choices of teenage girls at the McDonald's on Bluemound and Brookfield Rd. in Brookfield, WI one sunny, summer, Wednesday afternoon.
I love you my Rose. Even though you play neither soccer nor tennis.

No, it's true, I don't audition anymore for theatre. Not to say I never will again, but certainly "The Philadelphia Story" wouldn't be the one to get me out there again. I'm a huge non-fan of that one. (True fact: My mom was in the West Allis Players' production with Linda Steiber 15 years ago.)
Besides, I'm not really a young man myself these days. I mean, I'm 30, but on stage I look about 45, so ...
Plus it's probably all moot at the moment, because I'm finally going to give L.A. a try. I no longer have a job in Milwaukee, so it seemed like the time was ripe for a move. I'll be leaving in about two weeks. We'll see how long I last there... (unless I have a compelling reason to stay in Milwaukee ... do you know of any awesome jobs available here that I'm qualified for? Any plum "parody lyricist" assignments?)
Anyhoo, good luck if you decide to audition for Philadelphia...

I guess.
LA, eh? Know where you're moving to? I've got a veritable posse of wonderful folks out there who probably have quite a bit o' info you might find helpful when you get there. Several of them are here on LJ, actually. They're mostly centered in the Santa Clarita area.
I'll keep my ears peeled for "parody lyricist" openings. You know the gents from MST3K are back in the saddle. Three huzzahs to you if you send them your resume...
