Suppose, on the one hand, you have a soul-less machine that, to all outward appearances, perfectly mimics a human being, and on the other, you have a genuine human with a divine soul.
By what test could you tell which one has the soul, and which one doesn't? If we can't tell two things apart by any possible test, then, by definition, the two things are said to be identical (humanity, in this case).
