My grandpa is dying. My sister called me yesterday morning to ask if I wanted to come with her to the hospital. As Mom was not in town, Natalie and I were the only family here

I am so late in being able to reply to these that it isn't even fair. Sorry for that, but thank you so much for your support at such a hard blow for me.

I have to deviate to say OMG, I miss your stories! I've been trying to get my hands on the DVDs of your new fandom but haven't had luck yet. But a part of me thinks it may even be better to have the first version of those characters I see be presented to me through your writing. Through your BtVS stories, my closeness to every character you wrote often was enhanced in ways I've rarely found before. Now that I have more time to come back to the computer, I can't wait for the chance to get caught up on your journal and your writing.

Your words speak volumes for me. They helped calm the panic as death took him out of the world. It was the most puzzling and frustrating cataclism of a situation as I struggled with how to be there for my mom, as it was her father that died, now that I've formed the opinion I have of her. *sigh*

I'm so, so sorry. Watching someone you love fail is just awful. It doesn't matter how old he/she is, it still *hurts*.

I think you shouldn't be so hard on yourself-- you are definitely saying it right. I don't know what else to say other than I'm sorry, and I hope in time you'll be able to remember the good about your grandpa without the bad/sad.
