Fuck grammer.. I'm tired.

Whoa, I'm really tired.

Thought for the day.
You know when someone says that you should stop and smell the roses? Usually it's applied to noticing one's surroundings; nature as applied to your own environment, appreciation for friends and family, etc. But, do people ever really stop to feel their feelings? What I mean is, do people savor what ( Read more... )

On stinky roses: I'll take that "no good without the bad" comment and take it a step further. I have so many friends that over-analyze before they even BEGIN any kind of relationship. "But what if it hurts?" .. Well, duh! Of course it's going to end up hurting. Human beings are dumbasses that'll, inadvertantly or not, cause others pain. Why sacrifice the good you'll feel though? And yeah, I like your conclusion on how the depth of pain you felt mirrored the depth of joy.

On stuff: Yeah, it's really those little, casual things that we now deem meaningless that give the most insight to future generations. "Oh, my parents met at a diner and would continue going their once a week for breakfast?" .. that means something, at least to me.
I definitely saved little trinkets from casual outtings with family and friends while in highschool (and onward). It's hard to find the balance between that level of hoarding and wanting to lead an easily-travelable life with less stuff though.

I can agree with your "stop and feel your feelings" bit. The basic reason behind my decision (which I reached a while ago, in fact) that I want to spend my post-college lfie doing manual, blue-collar work (which to a certain extent I guess cancels out the "point" of signing away my life's $$$ to a college education) is the fact that I lo~~ve the feelnig of being totally exhausted, wanting to just collapse across your bed, face down in the pillow, and knowing that you have got that way for a reason--you have worked your ass off, you can prove it tangibly via the product of your labor-- and that it is something to be proud of. I could never have an office job, never do the white-collar bit, and probably not teach--at least, not full time. I like getting things physically done too much for that.

I like feeling exhausted and fulfilled as well, though for me a truly rewarding career would benefit someone other than myself, leaving not only myself, but someone else knowing that something worthwhile was achieved. Hence why I really want to work with people, probably in other countries where needs are more easily construed (though never easily rectified).

I get terribly attached to my things, especially if it's from my childhood. Old school papers, pamphlets from a 10yr old piano recital, even gifts I never used! For example, my mom saved up to buy me this Precious Moments doll that you could half-create yourself (since I was in some kind of sewing stage), but I just never got around to it. First of all, I feel awful that I didn't. Secondly, I can't make myself throw that away when I KNOW my mom will notice the lack thereof and, most likely, cry. Ugh. I'm going to have to stiffen my resolve and start dumping shit. ... Or sneak said shit out the back door.

But, again, a lot of that stuff I want to give to my children. Perhaps the solution is investing in a long-term storage unit for things not presently used. Keep your living space tidy and travel easily while still having the memories stored. ... Or I could stop assigning memories to objects. That's an idea!

I did, but you didn't! It was good and casual. Hope YOU had the relaxing night with so-and-so that you desired.

And are you sick again? And how in God's name will we meet? How's your Wednesday night? Oh, and on Thursday night I'm having dinner at Laura B's cottage- you down?
