I don't think that the essay is a big part of how they choose you, but anyway.

Why don't you just say why you're interested? Also, you can take stuff from the EAP site, like "I want to broaden my horizons" or "I want to see what my culture looks like through the eyes of another culture" etc.

That's so exciting Stacy! :D I think I'm taking Korean over summer too (but not in Korea haha). Well talk about how it started with interest in K-dramas, manga, or music or whatever but that it became more about it--that it become beyond the drama, the book or whatever and about understanding and basking in the wonder of the language LMAO so cheesy hahah :D GO FOR IT!!!
