I gave a lot of thought to getting my MFA in creative writing, because I love writing of all kinds. I just had to tailor my degree to something that might actually employ me in the end and hopefully won't be too bad.

I hope all the changes you've got going work out well, and enjoy the contest!

I'm definitely glad that I came back to school... The arts may not be the most lucrative field, but I'd rather do something that I love and hope to make a living at it.

Whoa, that's an insane few months there! I've got a bit of a whirlwind coming up too, but in my usual way I'm kind of pretending that it doesn't exist and that if I stand still enough and keep my eyes shut, the tornado will pass as a gentle breeze.

I can sometimes overwhelm myself, especially when it comes to school deadlines, but then I stop and realize that in a few months, it's all over, for good or ill, and that's really not that long to push through all the procrastination and work to get done.
