It isn't my fault! They told me they fixed it!

No, I'm not talking about the hyperdrive on the Millenium Falcon. I'm talking about the world of solitaire. I think I'm on the longest losing streak EVER of computer solitaire. It's not that I don't want to start my work for the afternoon. Really. ... Okay, maybe it's kind of that. But not really. It's mostly that I have to win a hand of ( Read more... )

Yeah, but what I've been finding is that the more games I explore, the more time I need to "get in a win" before I get started working 'cause then I play a bunch of them instead of just one. :) I just need more willpower, is all. :)

You should proooooobably be playing Scrabble on Facebook with me instead. It helps cure my work-boredom, and it uses more of your brain than Solitare!

You should find my sil on the the Words With Friends thing (she's themaillady on here, if you want to contact her). She plays it a ton.

I've told Tom that my problem is that all my distractions are in the same desk/computer/eye/hand space as the other stuff I need to be doing, as opposed to being able to set a phone aside or turn away from the tv. I pulled the plug (literally) on my laptop and worked in the living room for a while yesterday, and it did *wonders* for my sanity. I need to do that more often. :)

Actually, I play half a dozen different games, depending on mood: Pogo.com's Word Whomp is one of my favorites, but lately I've wanted my "engine starter" game to be less brainwork and more rote. And, I've been burned by the darn FB games too many times; the ones I like tend to let you play for a while, then demand you pay something to keep going. Even if it's just .99, I'm not doin' it. And, I get tired of them asking me if I want to share my winnings. Blech.
