Searching for the Signs

Feb 17, 2010 08:12

How do you know you're valued - for who you are, for "being there", for your contributions?  Personally?  Professionally?

What are the indicators that you seek and how do you demonstrate it to others?

You have friends, loved ones, your loved and you return the love. You have people care for you and you return the care. After that does much else matter?

My dear Quicktongue, you are valued for your sweet heart, sharp mind, dry wit and warm smile. I don't know you very well yet, but I DO know that you're a good person and I like you.

I know these things when I am told them by someone I respect, who delivers them with sincerity. When I am currently feeling something nice about someone, I try to remember to TELL them. Subtle non-verbal communication is great and foundational to human interaction, but it's no substitute for clarity.

Words and actions.
In that order.

Words are good, and actions are better. Like my friend Hector says "you gotta walk your talk, or it means nothing".

Me lusting after you whenever I see you isn't a sign? :)

*LOL* But it's not JUST lust. We know that you also value her warm heart, her artistic ideas, and her creativity in thinking up fun things to do (and snd several other things too).
