My Mammy

So I went for my yearly mammy last week. Until a couple of years ago & reconnecting with my mother, I didn't know that I had an intense family history of breast cancer. I frankly think it freaks doctors out more than me. And let me clarify that all the women in my family have had very treatable forms of breast cancer and have all survived longer ( Read more... )

yep - I'm good on the mammys now. I may increase to every 6 months, especially when I get in to my 50s.

And I'm glad you're keeping up with it too.

I had a biopsy 3 years ago. Scared the poo out of me! Glad everything ended up fine, albiet pinched and smushed.

you know I fear the biopsy more than the results. but there's so much cultural stuff to go 'there' when you need an extra look or something. I'm glad everything ended alright for you too!

I have to go for my yearly in a few months and Im already dreading it. At least it sounds like all of the contorting with the machine might have given you a little yoga workout for the day :)

yes it was quite the little work out - I was actually thinking 'it's a good thing i'm flexible enough for this'. I did plan well for my cycle - seems like the last couple of years I hit on PMS and owy-ka-zowy.

I'm glad you're going in a few months :)
