I ponder on this one because I have never been a particularly bad student. Albeit sleeping through undergrad wasn't the wisest move but my GPA didn't reflect my poor sleeping patterns as I studied like crazy to make up for it. I'm pretty bad about procrastinating and I have the worst ADD... it's almost impossible for me to concentrate, however, ( Read more... )

*offers whiskey sour*

Today seems to have been the day of tests. Can you bribe beg any of the older students to be in a study group with you or give you tips? Mooching off better students got me through advanced p-chem. Sort of.

You need relaxation, lots of chocolate, good music of your choice, and a few, cute male slaves.

*hugs* I'm sorry you're having a rough time. Why don't you talk to the prof? See if he's got any suggestions.

*hugs again* I believe in you, love.

Huh?

You know, my ADD takes an entirely different form. It is because I am ADD inattentive that I never spend that long studying, I'm always trying to finish before I lose interest. Of course, it's 11:30 and I haven't started with my homework. I did check flights to Atlanta for tomorrow so that I could see the new George Clooney movie which is playing at UA Tara but not in Austin which sucks ass. The best I could do was $700 leaving after class tomorrow morning and leaving ATL to be at work at 5 on Saturday.

Yes, I suck.

Anyway, that whole situation sucks. I'm sorry, that's what I should have said to start.

1. don't get too down yet, wait until you've got the results because you can't truly be objective about your own performance.
2. Studying is always better than not studying. If nothing else, it'll make you feel less guilt
3. Stop thinking about it, you'll only make youself feel bad. It's done and you can't change it. Go see a movie, read a book or do something just to relax before you go back to studying if you must.

It's rarely as bad as you think it is. Failing one test, in that event, is not the end of the world and there's no guarantee you will. Don't depress yourself over something that's really not worth it. You'll get through.
