You know, I've been really annoyed lately (more than usual, that is) with how Western religion sets out to demonize knowledge. I sometimes marvel that the same book can contain both Genesis and Proverbs --- one portrays mankind as unfit for knowledge while the other (later) text presents wisdom as the key to enlightenment. At least the right revision was made, but it's certainly backslid since then!
