If you are pushing the tech side of your experience, Dice is wonderful.

Also, are you willing to be a contractor? Then getting your resume into those dbs helps (Robert Half, TeKSystems and it's sister companies like AeroTek, Kelly, and such: my husband's new job was found through SkillStorm).

With the Dice profile: make sure it is searchable, and update it if the calls slow down. Even a minor change will trigger a lot of attention.

Also, if you aren't in a rush, and are looking for Federal work, the site for that is USAJobs

I'd already set myself up on USA jobs because a friend had already sent met here. I can't afford to do contract work as Jason really needs the healthcare. I have steady work now, but I suspect the company is going to try to do away with the union come October. Once we go on strike, I will most certainly sign up with temp agencies to keep money (and my house payment) coming in. Thanks tho!

That has been worrying me. Currently, many (most?) tech jobs force people through a contract-to-hire phase: the main reasons seem to be to make getting rid of new hires easier and to avoid taking on health care for new hires while they are being checked out. (I currently have no health insurance, again, because of the new job.)

I really hope you can find a direct hire, especially because a move sounds like it's not an option.
