I know, it’s been forever. LJ doesn’t like https anywhere, so it won’t let me post. I am loading this in a different browser because of this. I do read on a daily basis. Hardly anyone ever posts there anymore. I doubt anyone reads. I have a Dreamwidth account, as well as Diaspora and G+. I don’t really pay much attention to G+ unless someone points

Chiming in on the "I read!" chorus; note: same handle on DW, real name (email me if needed) on G+, but you know that; I've got you in circles there.

Some suggestions re: employment: Don't necessarily rule out contract work; as I'm sure you know, sometimes contract can become contract-to-hire, and then hire. For coverage, there's ACA, which may or may not be good, adequate, or crappy, for your needs, but it's THERE, and I've been seeing ads around here for something called "Freelancers' Union" which seems to be a ... co-operative? ... that potentially has the buying power to get decent rates on decent coverage.

Glad to hear Jason's doing well; is he really already done with eighth grade?! And Alex going to college?! (You're making me feel old!)

I get subsidized cobra for a year, so I am going to make use of that. I've submitted my resume to a few contract firms, but I've got nothing, even after I've submitted follow up emails. So, I'm feeling pretty crappy about it. I've been gone for a few weeks, but I'd like to think that my skills would have elicited an equiry email or a phone call. :/

We make too much for Jason to qualify for SSD. It would make life a bit more easy to deal with if that were the case. SSD will fall on the parent's income if the child is under 18.
