Actually about 19 years ago I read an article about an attempt to cure herpes using a derivative of lemon juice. In which case herpes would have gone with lemons. ^^

Whenever I have had cold sores (i.e. herpes), eating lemons or drinking lemon juice made the sores significantly worse. Also, sometimes just eating citrus fruit can bring on a flare-up.
