Having just hit a notable birthday, I was very pleased to receive a pair of Dell 1907fp monitors to replace my ailing flatscreen and the temporary widescreen that replaced its twin. UK Orphan Works
Earlier this year, the UK government passed an act (Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013 or ERR) which appeared to provide private companies with the option to freely use a piece of artwork found online if they could not find its creator after a ‘diligent search’. Another month, another challenge
After sharing the excellent fully dressed superheroines of Michael Lee Lunsford, friend, game creator and walking L’Oreal advert Graham Bennett challenged me to sketch a fully dressed Witchblade and apply the reverse to a male superhero. With turnabout being fair play, I picked the wardrobe challenged Witchblade’s counterpart The Darkness.

Challenge Accepted
A couple of weeks back, prolific UK manga artist Laura Watton (check out her work at pinkapplejam.com) challenged me to play cover-artist for her popular Squishy-chan character, the lovable miniature octopus from the ongoing Biomecha series.

Painting without Blending
With 2013 arriving, I am challenging myself to push my technique, with a challenge every month. For January, this involved stepping away from the use of blending tools, focusing on mark making and stroke placement to convey colour and form.

Female Heroes
The games industry (among others) have a historically painful relationship with female characters, particularly protagonists. As an avid game player, I want to see games with strong, female heroes rather than glamour models with improbable armour. This image arose as a result of that thought process.
