One of the really irritating things about being sick for more than one day is the requirement to have a medical certificate to show my employer. Yes, I'm sick, I should be in bed but I have to get up, get dressed and go and waste my money, tax payer money, the doctor's and my time just for a little piece of paper which tells you what I already know

Ugh, terrible isn't it! I was there for half a day monday, tuesday off, there wednesday and thursday and now friday off...

Been having a think about the sickie thing lately. I've realised that i have two perspectives...one as a boss...the other as an employee. As a boss, it is highly irritating when staff take bludge days. It creates more work for everyone else and basically lets the team down. I am for having to produce a medical certificate in that case, because perhaps it might make them think twice. On the other side of the coin, i don't want to have to do the same thing myself, especially when i have to be on my absolute death bed to see a doctor! Perplexing indeed.
