My mom is something of a counter-example to #24..are you maybe talking about more CPS-type people? My mom works in bereavement for Kaiser and her coworkers are pretty diverse across the board...my mom also says that she wanted to have more kids besides me, but she was busy going nuts instead.

I'm itching for more sources on 'the gov't invented crack' thing. If you find anything, let me know.
