Who Needs Fossil Fuel?

Yesterday I made a trip to the grocery store on my mountain bike. I went with the Burley trailer in tow to transport the groceries. We have two large thermal bags to transport the frozen/refrigerated goods in. The trip is less than two miles so there isn't much threat of spoilage anyway. It is really satisfying to be able transport a load without using any gasoline. The only drawback is that I end up shopping alone when I ride. I guess it will help to keep the grocery bill down since there aren't as many there to impulse buy. :-P

Grocery list. Limited transport space. That could also keep the impulse buys down.

Good for you on saving the oil.

Mom was wanting to go more green, when she remodles this place (ranch). She wants solar and possibly windmills if I can convince her of that. The wind blows too much here not to use it. I guess I will start researching windmills and storing power in batteries.

Actually I can fit an entire week's worth of groceries into the trailer easy.

Cool about the green ranch. I saw some water wells with back-up solar cells and thought that would be a good idea in case the power went out for extended periods. Do the windmills you are speaking of generate electricity? That field/hill east of the lodge would work for a windmill.

Awesome way to save gas and money! I wish I could ride my bike to the grocery store, but it's way downhill from my house, so the trip back probably wouldn't be successful. :p
