School's ending soon. I should be studying but I can't bring myself to do it. I guess that wasting time on my journal is my way of procrastinating. Not that that's a hard thing to do. Procrastinate, I mean.

As nice as the weather's been lately, I can't help but feel completely apprehensive. Going home isn't going to be the same at all. I'm used to ( Read more... )

I suggest you stay away from pigeons...

If I've no other options, I don't see what's so bad about pigeons.

They would be perfectly fine, except that pigeons are all crawling with disease.

I'm very jealous of your living arrangements. I've always wanted to grow a mustache.

But (seriously, this time. Was that first bit insensitive? Sorry), really, Euan, try to have a positive outlook. It's probably next to impossible to do so, but maybe looking at it as a learning experience rather than torture will make it better.

That was me being full of it. I don't really know why I tried to offer advice when I have no idea what's going on in your mind (though I'm sure you're upset, who wouldn't be?) but nevertheless, try. And good luck with the pigeons.

I'll keep that learning experience bit in mind while I'm getting motion sickness on the way to my new, humble flat in the middle of some queer little suburbian town. Maybe I'll give up cow-tipping for a coffee on a quaint little corner at a yuppie cafe and educate myself at a museum in nearby Dortmund.

I will look at it this way: I've never been off this...well, island I suppose you could call it. I've only seen Ireland and Britain. Germany will be an opportunity. And who knows, maybe I'll meet some stunning sixteen-year-old version of a German vixen and we'll find...productive ways to spend the summer.

By the way, you would look positively ravishing with a mustache.

You should. Cow-tipping isn't nice, anyway. And who doesn't love yuppies? (eugh)

Despite the reasons you're going, it's travel, and yeah. An opportunity. So good luck with it. Just promise not to have any half-German baby Euans.

You really think so? Oh, I feel faint. Get me some hair-growth serum now, please.

Euan, I should hope you come back next fall with a tan and some German phrases or something, not a wallet full of baby pictures. Really. I'm glad Claire seems to have no interest in dating you.

The Germans will likely make us wear those funny trousers and suspenders...we'll come back changed men, Abercrombie. I'm sure we'll be able to frighten even the most jaded of matrons after a summer spent in the pastures and mountains of Germany...

Oh God...

Oh God.

We'll be positively tyrannical. The manliest of men with handlebar mustaches.

Everyone has been saying.. really distubring things, Euan. I hope you don't come back from Germany any different than you are now.. well, actually, I'd like for you to come back happy.

You're so bitter, Euan. You know that you'll have so much fun in Germany - I heard that Berlin can be really fashionable. Maybe I'll come visit you! It's, like, really close to Paris, right?

You know that I would be quite flattered if you used me for geographical connections.

Anyway, I've never seen Paris and you could show me around.
