it can be hard to forgive, but its all about circumstance. and to also be vague...a good judge of character plays an important part more than anyone would ever believe. usually people take that leap of faith after the first letdown by a percentage. at least 60 percent chance (according to their own ways of compiling statistics for the situation) will usually earn the subject another chance, the more letdowns the more it hurts the percentage. compassion turns into foolishness when that percentage is on a severely low level and when, and only when, the victim is a poor judge of character.

are you a good judge of character, or do you have a knack for figuring people out? if so then the rest is easy, if not, then its more luck than anything, a very popular word for this is street smarts. fun stuff really, and this is my two cents.
